TWO NEW RENEWABLE energy courses are to be offered by the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic (SJPP).

And, said principal Hector Belle, more new courses are on the horizon.

In an interview at the Wildey, St Michael campus yesterday, he said the courses – photovoltaic installation and textile product design – were funded through the Su College in Canada and the Come To Base Training Fund, respectively.

Belle said that though the institution remained financially constrained, the new courses were necessary because of the great demand from the public.

Photovoltaic installation, part of the full-time curriculum and part-time courses, will run for 45 hours, and textile as a two-year, part-time programme. (SDB Media)
