COACH HENDY SPRINGER and the “think tan” of the Barbados team may not have won many fans for their failure to show more urgency in trying to maximise opportunities for batting points.

Their lethargic approach to batting which arguably contributed to defeat in a game they seemed likely to win against Guyana may even have cost Barbados the chance of another regional title. Yet as Kraigg Brathwaite’s team go into their ninth round contest against the Windward Islands Volcanoes it must be satisfying to note the outstanding individual performances.

“All the players in our squad are working towards improving their game. Some are looking to regain their spots on the international side and some are working towards making their debut at that level, so there is always incentive to perform well,” coach Springer told WEEKEND SPORT earlier in the season.
