THE CORPORATE sector is throwing its support behind a public awareness project to draw attention to the seriousness of kidney disease afflicting Barbadians.
And this complements Government’s spending about $12.9 million of its annual health budget on haemodialysis.
President and CEO of Capita Financial Services Inc. Paul Maxwell on Thursday announced, on World Kidney Day, his company would be putting resources into a fund-raising concert in acknowledgement of its social responsibility with regard to the chronic kidney disease problem.
With the concert, which is also being supported by the Central Bank of Barbados, CAPITA will be partnering with the Barbados Kidney Association to assist that body in achieving their goal of providing support, awareness, education and preventive measures for kidney disease. (GC)
