Man remanded on gun, ammunition charges

POLICE HAVE CHARGED two men with criminal offences following Saturday’s search of a car and its four occupants.

Twenty-one-year-old Shakiel Akeem Connell of Fryers Well, Checker Hall, St Lucy was charged with two counts of illegal possession of a firearm and two counts of unlawful possession of ammunition.

He appeared in the Oistins Magistrates’ Court today and was remanded until April 14, 2015.

Meanwhile, Dale Dion Ifill, 24, of Half Moon Fort, St Lucy was charged with possession of 82 grammes of cannabis, trafficking and possession with intent to supply.

He appeared in the same court and pleaded guilty to the charges. He was sentenced to 200 hours community service. (PR/NB)
