BARBADIANS HAVE ACCESS to world-class dental facilities and dental practitioners, says president of the Barbados Dental Association (BDA), Dr Vidya Armogan.

He said, however, best dental care could only be maintained if the costs to the dental professional were kept within reason.

Speaking Friday from the Caribbean Smile Makers, Belleville office, on the occasion of World Oral Health Day, Armogan said to ensure that dentistry in Barbados was of the highest quality and at an affordable fee the BDA continued to lobby government for the elimination of duties and taxes on dental equipment and supplies.

He said dental practices had modernised to the point where quite a few in Barbados were easily the best in the Caribbean and, likely, the world since they employed the latest technologies. (LK)
