Share post:

THIS COULD BE Lester Vaughan’s year to win their first boys’ title in the PowerAde Barbados Secondary Schools Athletic Championships (BSSAC) but early pacesetters Christ Church Foundation could give them a run right down to the wire.

And among the girls, it appears that Springer Memorial only need to turn up at the National Stadium today and tomorrow for their finals and they will definitely wrap up a 16th consecutive girls’ title.

The perennial queens have already opened up a 74.5-point lead over their nearest rivals, Lester Vaughan (49.50) by rushing to 125 points while Foundation (41) and The St Michael School (38) are expected to make their presence felt.

The boys’ race is very open with Foundation starting the two days of finals with a 22-point cushion at the top over Coleridge & Parry (66) with St Leonard’s (63) third.

Lester Vaughan (57) are nicely positioned in fourth, just ahead of Harrison College (55.50), with The Lodge School (42) sixth. (EZS)
