BARBADIANS ARE TAKING a greater interest in careers in meteorology, hydrology and climatology.

Principal of the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH), David Farrell, said that after a little number crunching it was found that the number of students, especially Barbadians, has increased particularly those doing meteorology as their major.

He added that since they have increased the educational outreach activities, namely the summer camp and open days, the interest has grown.

Speaking at the open day at the CIMH Husbands, St James headquarters Farrell said the institute was trying to raise awareness about the rewarding career paths that can make a big difference in people’s lives. (LK)
