HARRISON COLLEGE romped home to win the Under-15 section of the 2015 Massy United Insurance Inter-school chess championship concluded last Saturday at the St Michael school.
The Crumpton Street team racked up a formidable 54 points out of a possible 60 to finish 14 points ahead of the second place Queen’s College. The Harrisonians showed how relentless they were and in the last round crushed St Leonard’s ‘A’ 8-2, with victories for Kyle Sandiford, Nitin Mahtani, Anoish Pais and Jacob Pile, while Dondre Hinds scored for St Leonard’s Boys’.
Also in the last round, Queen’s College demolished St Michael 10-0 with wins by Niccolo Walrond, Jennifer Jiang, Dajmar Bynoe, Shane Maughn and Segan Sandiford. (PR/EZS)
