Minister speaks out against fraternising

THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION has taken a zero tolerance approach to inappropriate relationships between students and teachers.

Minister of Education, Ronald Jones, sounded a forceful warning to all those who have ears at The Lodge School Speech Day And Prize Giving yesterday morning.

In fact, Jones said anyone who ran afoul of the policy would no longer have a job in education under his watch.

“We’ve had to be, in the last term or so, in the ministry quite firm. The contact between teachers and students must be a formal contact. Must be formal. And even though we love our children, and it’s nothing wrong with an embrace ‘round the shoulder, or saying you’ve done well, that is where it must stop,” Jones stated.
