Top seed, FIDE Master Orlando Husbands of Barbados and Thomas Gardet of Guadeloupe top the standings in the Under-20 division, setting the stage for an exciting clash in the fourth round.
Closely following are Calvin Tjong of Suriname on 2.5 points and Barbadian Bryan Prescod, who had a hard fought draw when they met in round three of the Massy United Insurance sponsored championships at Divi Southwinds Hotel.
There is a three-way tie in the Under-16 boys’ division, involving Barbados senior national champion Yu Tien Poon, Cedric Micle Prade of Surniname and Emerick Lafortune of Guadeloupe, while Surniname’s Anviti Ashita Adhin and Alexandra Irian-Ja Kaslan head the standings in the female section.
In the Under-12s, Barbadian Aaron Haynes, Trinidadian Kyron Agostini and Alessandro Bronne top in the table in the boys, while Daijah Johnson of The Bahamas leads the girls. (PR/HG)
