DRASTIC MEASURES must be instituted to curb road stunts by motorcyclists, the president of the Barbados Road Safety Association (BRSA), Sharmaine Roland-Bowen, has said.

She was commenting on the now commonplace display of “wheelies”, vehicle manoeuvres in which the front wheel comes off the ground, and various other acrobatic moves on both major and minor roadways.

Roland-Bowen said her organisation was “aghast by the occurrence of this reckless and most dangerous practice by young adventure seeking males on the roads, without taking into account the consequences of their actions”.
