CHURCHGOERS ACROSS Barbados turned out in their numbers on Easter Sunday to celebrate a foundation of the Christian faith – the resurrection of Jesus.

Everywhere yesterday church leaders were preaching that the entire Christian faith hinges upon the centrality of the resurrection and the hope for a life after death.

In sermons, in hymns ancient and modern, Bible readings, dance and other elements of drama, people from various denominations celebrated the event.

At the Halls Road Church of the Nazarene, there was a re-enactment of the Crucifixion and Jesus’ dramatic return from the grave (at left) to greet his grieving followers.
