Two as good as gold

BARBADOS’ athletes struck two more gold medals at the CARIFTA Games in St Kitts and Nevis yesterday.

Long distance star Mary Fraser notched her second gold with a comprehensive victory in the girls’ 3 000 metres while Rivaldo Leacock, drawing lane 8, manhandled the Under-18 boys’ in the 400 metres hurdles in a personal best of 51.34 seconds, a new World Youth-leading time in the event.

The victories brought Barbados’ gold medal haul to five ahead of today’s final day.
