10 hurt in Black Rock incident

TEN PEOPLE SUFFERED injuries during a serious accident involving a route taxi and car along Black Rock Main Road, St Michael, yesterday.

The accident occurred at about 9:45 a.m. opposite the Terrific Tiles warehouse.

Police public relations officer Acting Assistant Superintendent David Welch said the route taxi was driven by 35-year-old Derrick Waterman, of Mount Brevitor, St Peter.

Four ambulances shuttled eight passengers who were travelling in the van to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Welch said they complained of various pains.

Waterman sought private medical attention.

The driver of the car, Junior Alleyne, 42, of St Barnabas, St Michael, also sought private medical attention.
