Churches condemn posting of death pictures

THE PRACTICE of taking pictures and videos at death scenes and posting them on social media sites is being strongly condemned by churches.

Anglican Bishop of Barbados Dr John Holder, Monsignor Vincent Blackett of the Roman Catholic Church and Reverend Anderson Kellman, the senior counselling psychologist at Network Services Centre, have all called the practice a sad reflection of the callousness of
modern day life.

Holder, the Archbishop of the West Indies, said the practice was against Christian principles. He said the solution resided not only in sermons from the pulpit and dissemination in the Press, but more importantly, in individuals.
