THE PRODUCTIVITY COUNCIL will host another series of GET UP! workshops next month, in an effort to help Barbadians improve their productivity.

The Getting Everyone to Understand Productivity (GET UP!) half-day training will be held every Tuesday, from May 19 to June 23, at the Council’s Baobab Tower, Warrens, St Michael headquarters. Employees of private and public sector organisations and members of the public interested in registering, should call the Council at 626-9416.

Participants will be exposed to discussions on Productivity Awareness, Service Excellence, Communication, Work Ethics and Teamwork.

Describing the productivity training as highly informative and interactive, head of training and development at the council, Shawn Callender, said it was geared towards reinforcing the urgency with which all employees, employers and stakeholders needed to approach their personal and professional productivity.

Callender expressed the view that the training was a must for any organisation seeking to assist its employees in understanding the relevance of improved productivity and performance.

The GET UP! programme was launched in September 2013, and over 2,000 persons have participated in it so far.

Callender said the council was encouraged by the level of support and positive feedback from those who participated, as well as their managers.  “Frontline, supervisory and management staff have participated in the training. Employers said they have seen some improvement in the performance of their employees since they have attended the sessions,” he stated. (BGIS)
