BGLAD upset with leaders

BARBADOS GAYS, Lesbians and All-sexuals Against Discrimination (BGLAD) is accusing some Caribbean leaders of presenting a façade to United States president Barack Obama concerning the rights of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) community.

A BGLAD Press release identified Trinidad, Jamaica and Barbados as not presenting the true face of discrimination in this regard during the recent presidential visit.

The release said Obama had taken a progressive stance towards LGBTI equality, proving him as “notably radical in challenging the stereotype of black men”.
