‘Old school’ rivalry at Senior Games

THE CLOSURE OF THE STANDS at the National Stadium had little impact on the numbers which turned out to witness some entertaining performances at the 2015 National Senior Games yesterday.

The spectators crowded tents along the cycling track as the blistering speed from the likes of Ainsley Lovell, Shirley Harper, Victor Young, Barney Brathwaite and many of the evergreens outshone any annoying heat from nature.

MC Mac Fingall kept the events stitched together with his own style of humour and antics, which were thoroughly enjoyed by all, including Minister of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment and Community Development Steve Blackett, who along with his wife Eleanor and Senator Dr David Durant, supported and applauded every run, walk, jump and throw by the competitors.
