Man who swallowed cocaine to reappear in court next month

FORTY-SEVEN-YEAR old Shawn Lawrence Chance will reappear in court on May 28 after pleading guilty to cocaine charges.

The Guyanese national pleaded guilty to possession, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation of one kilo of cocaine. He was fined $100 000 to be paid in four weeks.

According to police, Chance arrived in Barbados last Saturday at 5 p.m. After being interviewed by police at the Grantley Adams International Airport, he was referred to Customs.

Fifty-three packets of cocaine were found in the bottom of a suitcase. Chance was also referred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he subsequently passed out 40 packets of cocaine. (PR/SAT)
