British bucks a boost to economy
THANK GOODNESS for those 4 000 Brits.
Barbados’ flagging economy got a lift in the past seven days, thanks to the arrival of English cricket fans for the ongoing third Test against the West Indies.
From Oistins and St Lawrence Gap in the south, to Kensington Oval and along the country’s platinum West Coast, numbers are in, and spending is up.
Along Fontabelle, St Michael, yards away from the historic Oval, vendors’ lines were long, and business booming for the first two days of the thrilling game.
