Drugs hidden in freezer door
LASONJA PAULETTE GILKES is scheduled to appear in the District A Magistrates Court on Monday to face several drug charges.
According to a press release, Gilkes, 37, of Grand View, St Thomas, went to a freighting business in Brighton, St Michael, last Wednesday to clear an imported freezer.
A search of the appliance by Customs Enforcement Unit of the Customs Department found 18.4 pounds of cannabis hidden in the door.
Gilkes has been charged with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation. She is scheduled to appear at the District A Magistrates Court. (PR/SAT)
