SBA says Central Bank lifeline a killer

THE LIFELINE CREATED by the Central Bank to ease the cash flow of small and medium sized businesses will strangle them.

That’s the view of the Small Business Association (SBA).

It objects for three reasons:

Firstly, it is an unwieldy and unnecessary process.

Companies seeking to access the scheme must first be certified by the Small Business Development Unit even though businesses applying for VAT factoring are already registered with the Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA). (SP)
