Back to school
IT IS NOT the Waterford, St Michael campus the principal was hoping for, but the majority of Combermere students are back under one roof.
A total of 714 students from first through to fourth form turned up for the second official day of school this Trinity term in new quarters at the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic (SJPP) from early yesterday morning.
Principal Vere Parris was in the thick of things trying to get students and teachers settled in their temporary facilities and could not “engage” the Press at the time.
At least three officials from the Ministry of Education – senior education officers Patricia Warner and Joy Adamson, and education officer Montege Deane-Bowen – were on hand to assist with the settling-in. (YB)
