National trials to stay at Stadium

THE 2015 NATIONAL track and field championships are staying at the National Stadium after all.

The decision was made recently at a council meeting of the Athletics Association Of Barbados (AAB).

There was a suggestion to shift the games to the Ryan Brathwaite Track at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex, because of adjustments that have to be made at the stadium by organizers and patrons, since the decision was taken last month by the Ministry of Sports to close access to the stands for safety reasons.

However, president of the AAB, Catherine Jordan, told NATIONSPORT the meet, slated for June 19-21, will stay in Waterford, a decision taken after lengthy discussion on the matter.
