Trotman after Jones’ record

Today could be an important day in the life of eight-time champion jockey Anderson “Tom” Trotman as he could overtake the legendary Challenor “Chally” Jones and move into second position on the list of all-time winning jockeys in Barbados.

Trotman, the defending champion, has been struggling this year after landing only five winners during the first season, which resulted in him languishing in the middle of the jockeys’ table. He has booked a full complement of rides though, and only needs to win one of them to overtake Jones, who retired with 470.

In today’s feature, The Mother’s Day Handicap at the Garrison Savannah, he sits aboard Daunting David for his contracted barn Hopefield Stable, and it is believed that this colt will relish the 1 800 metres.
