Unlikely Barbados link for three

The stories are as varied as the backgrounds of those involved but a common thread runs through the tales of three men in England and Ireland.

The link: an interest in Barbados and how the turns in the separate lives of Michael Flatley, Alan Barnes, and Glen Rycroft intersected at the Caribbean country.

Take the case of Flatley, one of Ireland’s best-known dancers, actors and authors who has added a new strand to his illustrious career, and that’s where Barbados comes in. With an estimated net worth of more than US$304 million, Flatley has what the Irish Times calls a “new passion,” an interest in painting which he has turned into a gold mine that makes him one of the most expensive living Irish artists.
