School salutes Holder

IT WASN’T a night for long speeches.

It was a time to celebrate Jason Holder, captain of the West Indies One Day International cricket team, for his achievements so far.

The former student of The St Michael School was showered with praises during a cocktail reception last  Thursday night at the Martindale’s Road school before an audience that included his family, cricketing legend Joel Garner, renowned commentator Tony Cozier, former students and West Indies team media manager Philip Spooner.

Also present were his West Indies teammate Kraigg Brathwaite, Barbados team manager Hartley Reid, principal Dr Yvette Mayers, retired principal Shelton Perkins, Senior Education Officer Patricia Warner, teachers, staff members and other cricketers.
