Haulers to Govt: Meet with us
PRIVATE WASTE HAULERS are pleading with Government to meet with them.
Yesterday as the truckers staged a second straight day of protests, chairman of the Waste Haulers Association Charles Read said they had stopped collecting waste and were now waiting for Government to sit with them and hear their concerns.
Speaking from the José y José Liquid and Solid Waste Management Inc. Warrens, St Michael outlet after protest action that took them into Bridgetown, Read said the decision to cease the collection of waste came against the backdrop of what they described as dismissive remarks from Minister of the Environment Dr Denis Lowe who they said had refused to meet with them when they went to him on Monday.
