A MIDWEEK UNWIND put City commuters in the right frame of mind for Crop Over, as the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) took the launch of the Hott 95.3/LIME Mega Cavalcade ‘down by the River’ last Wednesday afternoon.

The mini-concert provided a sample of new tunes from up and coming artistes as well as established crowd favourites ahead of the May 29 mega cavalcade, to be held at Queen’s Park at 7 p.m.

Often considered the unofficial start of the festival season, this year’s cavalcade will have an additional feature: a karaoke competition. To enter, persons 18 years and older can upload videos of themselves singing one of the pre-selected songs in NCF’s ‘jukebox’, using the hashtag #megasocakaraoke. The top six videos chosen through online voting will be eligible for a final showdown at Queen’s Park.
