From pain to joy

THE PAIN is still there but come tomorrow there will be plenty of joy as Cyprian Payne begins a new innings.

Last September, Payne, a national hockey player and LIME Elite cricketer, was lying unconscious for three days, fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital after undergoing emergency surgery to remove several bullets from his body.

He had been shot multiple times at point-blank range on September 19 while at his girlfriend’s residence in Nurse Land, Mansion Road, Bank Hall as he rushed out to help put out a fire at the house.
