Gavron Award to continue
THE GREAT WORK started by Lord Robert Gavron, for which local cricket has been an appreciative beneficiary, is set to continue.
Lady Kate Gavron, widow of Lord Gavron, announced that the most prestigious award in Barbados cricket would continue to bear fruit.
Lord Gavron, a joyous character who was an honorary life member of the Barbados Cricket Association, had a home in Barbados. He died in February at the age of 84.
“We will continue . . . . Our contribution to cricket, a game we love so much, will continue and I’m sure ‘Bob’ [would] be delighted with the future winners as he has been with those who won the award before,” said Lady Gavron.” (PS)
