‘DMZ’ breaks own record

THERE IS A NEW drag racing record in Barbados.

It’s 6.92 seconds, posted by Matthew “DMZ” Forde at the wheel of the Goodyear Tyres/Junior Wood Trucking/Slam FM/Redline Fuels/Illusion Graphics/Wow Displays Inc/Forde’s Auto/Maximo Batteries Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III at last Sunday’s race meet of the Barbados Association of Dragsters and Drifters (BADD).

The event was part of the Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc. race meet which also included the second round of the Suzuki Challenge Series.

Forde, who held the old mark of 7.07 seconds,  posted the new mark during official qualifying before suffering mechanical problems on the powerful machine. (TT)
