Police officer on gun, ammo charges

A POLICE OFFICER who is on suspension, is expected to appear in court today to answer charges in relation to possession of a firearm and ammunition.

He is 29-year-old Undwyn Jean-Baptiste of West Road, Warrens, St Michael, who has been charged with illegal possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of nine rounds of ammunition.

According to the police, members of the Drug Squad executed a search warrant at the residence of Jean-Baptiste on Sunday, and the firearm and ammunition were discovered and seized.

Jean-Baptiste is expected to appear at the District A Magistrates Court. (PR/SAT)
