High marks for Lester Vaughan expo
SCORES OF young people had an insight into the workings of business when the second annual Lester Vaughan School’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Exposition got under way at the St Thomas institution Tuesday.
And it is against that background that chief executive officer of the Barbados Agricultural Society, James Paul, is calling for children to know the basics of business so as to grasp the sacrifice involved in making a business successful.
“Young people need to understand [that many] large businesses start from very small entrepreneurial effort[s] . . . . Very often we give the impression to our young people that the business started extremely large, but we do not tell them the amount of work that has to go into it.” Paul praised the parents who participated in the expo and showcased their skills.
