Boost for renewable energy training
UNIVERSITY TRAINING in renewable energy, particularly solar power, is expected to be enhanced thanks to the acquisition of five mobile training toolkits.
The German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) recently gifted the kits to the Renewable Energy Teaching and Research Laboratory of the University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill.
Lecturer in the Renewable Energy Management programme, Dr Thomas Rogers, said starting in a few weeks UWI would work with the Barbados Renewable Energy Association to conduct training across Barbados, starting with the agricultural sector.
