WASTE HAULERS SHOULD be “pleasantly surprised” when their next meeting with Minister of the Environment Dr Denis Lowe and officials of his ministry is convened.

While Lowe did not reveal details about the meeting, he gave the assurance that the concerns of the waste haulers over the $25 per tonne or part thereof tipping fee are being considered “very, very carefully”.

“I think we’ve worked out a formula that could be beneficial to everybody,” Lowe said.

He was speaking to the media this morning following a tour at West Terrace Primary School, which formed part of activities for Environment Week. (YB)
