Sherry-Ann Battershield is the owner of Tsalach
Are you where you’ve always wanted to be?
No. Although I have always wanted to own my own business, there is more I would like to do.
What is your biggest professional challenge?
Being easily accessed. I am still based at home and resources are somewhat limited, which can prove to be restrictive.
What is your biggest life challenge?
I have none.
When you look to the future what do you see?
Bigger and better things. Business expansion, more than one outlet, and an actual factory that manufactures soap on a large basis.
What is your favourite pastime?
Reading.
What is your favourite meal?
Split peas and rice with fried fish, toss salad, coleslaw, and ice cream for dessert.
On Saturday nights where are you likely to be?
At home reading.
What upsets you the most?
Being dismissed, that is, through poor customer service. I dislike the feeling, as if I am a bother.
What is your guiding philosophy?
To whom much is given, much is required.
If you had the chance to manage Barbados for a day, what would you do?
I would make Barbados more friendly for small businesses. I would create more opportunities for the average Joe to have realistic access to resources.
