Holder reflects on lead role

JASON HOLDER recently found himself thrust into the spotlight, given the responsibility of captain of the West Indies One-Day team.

“I was not as prepared as I possibly wanted to be,” the 23-year-old Barbadian recently admitted to MIDWEEK SPORT, hinting at being caught off guard by the offer to lead a team that has had a string of disputes over selection of captains and other administrative matters.

However, the former Under-19 Barbados captain has no doubt about his ability. He pointed out he had been in the captain’s seat before now, even if not at this level of the game. As far as he is concerned “leadership is leadership”.
