Bajans tell  of Budget measures they want to see

PUT VAT BACK to 15 per cent.

Increase old age pensions.

Bring measures to help young men start businesses.

These were three suggestions coming from Barbadians when the SUNDAY SUN took to the streets.

Two general sentiments dominated the public’s concerns in our drive through St Peter, St Andrew, St Joseph, St George, St Thomas and St James: First, that things are tough and people are hurting, so Sinckler needs to bring measures to ease the suffering. And secondly, that average citizens’ opinions don’t matter, as governments do not listen to ordinary people unless a general election is near.

This latter perspective was particularly strong among a group liming on the edge of the shore at Six Men’s.
