CHELSEA TUACH has again made history for Barbados by becoming the first Barbadian surfer to win a medal in the shortboard division at the International Surfing Association’s (ISA) World Surfing Games at Popoyo Beach in Nicaragua.

It is Tuach’s second medal for Barbados as she also won a copper medal at the ISA’s World Junior Surfing Championships.

Tuach surfed strongly in the excellent conditions on offer, making it through five qualifying rounds on her way to the final.

She was able to get the better of surfers from the world’s top surfing nations, including Australia, the United States and New Zealand, en route to her copper medal. (PR/EZS)
