Gambling under microscope
GOVERNMENT HAS identified the need for a comprehensive study on the incidence of gambling in Barbados.
The disclosure was made late Wednesday night by Prime Minister Freundel Stuart as the three-day debate on the 2015-2016 Budget drew to a close in the House of Assembly.
In the Budget, Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler proposed that from September 1, betting and gaming services, which are now regulated under a licensing regime, be removed from the VAT exempt list and subjected to the standard rate of 17.5 per cent.
