RETURNING HOME on Tuesday after participating in Miami at the 2015 Taste Of The Caribbean competition, Barbados’ culinary team said though they were happy for the awards they won, they still felt the sting of disappointment of not being the best.

Their performance spoke for itself, with Andre Nurse netting silver in Chef of the Year, first-timer Philip Antoine with gold in Bartender Of The Year and Best Non-Alcoholic Drink, cuisine chef and fellow first-timer Jason Cummins with bronze in Pastry Chef Of The Year and lone woman Stephanie Sayers with her silver in Junior Chef Of The Year.

Speaking to the media at the Grantley Adams International Airport, Michelle Smith-Mayers of the Barbados Hotel & Tourism Association said she was very proud of her team of chefs for giving it their all.
