Cannabis found in overturned van

ALMOST 180 POUNDS of cannabis were found in a van which overturned after the driver attempted to escape from police.

As a result, police have arrested and formally charged 37-year-old Wade Cortez Hope of Lodge Terrace, St Michael with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply and trafficking.

Around 1:45 p.m. last Wednesday, police intercepted a van at St Bernard’s Village, St Joseph.  In a bid to escape, the vehicle in which Hope was travelling overturned. 

The vehicle was searched and six polythene bags and a taped package were found containing the cannabis which weighed 81 kilos (178.2 pounds). (PR/SAT)
