10 more medals for Barbados

THE MEDAL RUSH continued for Barbados earlier tonight at the Central American and Caribbean Swimming Confederation (CCCAN) Championships at the Aquatic Centre.

Barbados hauled in ten more medals to take their overall tally to 30.

Tonight the swimmers won two gold, five silver and three bronze medals and have surpassed the 2013 medal haul of 29 (seven gold, 12 silver and ten bronze).

The hosts are third in the medal standings while Trinidad and Tobago are out front with 26 medals (19 gold, 6 silver, 1 bronze). Puerto Rico are second with 38 medals (17 gold, 13 silver and eight bronze).

Barbados currently are also third in the points standing with 358 points while Puerto Rico lead with 562.33 points. Costa Rica are second with 529 points.

The championships will continue tomorrow morning from 9 a.m. with the preliminaries while the finals will begin at 5:30 p.m. (PG)
