Prison inmate charged with drug possession

POLICE HAVE CHARGED prison inmate Akeem Carlisle Bentham with possession of 9.4 grammes of cannabis.

According to police, the 22-year-old was held by prison officers are a search was carried out at Dodds Prison on Wednesday.

Bentham appeared at the District “C “Magistrates Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to the charge proffered. 

He was sentenced to 15 months in prison to run consecutively to a four year prison term he is currently serving from May 2012.  (PR/NB)
