Media in for Heads of Government conference
IT MAY NOT BE as glamorous as the Academy Awards, but the 36th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) is attracting at least 150 reporters and photographers.
The batch includes 30 regional and international media people, some accompanying United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon; Commonwealth Secretary General Kamalesh Sharma and Panama’s President Juan Carlos Varela.
These were among the disclosures made today at Hilton Barbados resort during a media briefing by Programme Manager at the CARICOM Communications Unit Kendol Morgan and local media coordinator Cathy Lashley of the Barbados Government Information Service.
The conference gets underway on Thursday at Hilton Barbados Resort under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Freundel Stuart.
The theme is Vibrant Societies, Resilient Economies. (TY)
