RICHARD GRAZETTE and Gabriel Crichlow are the new Masters and Majors national draughts champions.

They took different routes but the outcome was the same.

Grazette, who a few months ago was unsure whether he would be taking part, but was encouraged to do so, defeated Jack Francis 1-0 in the first two games of a maximum four at the Barbados Bridge League headquarters at Belleville on Sunday.

While Grazette won outright, Crichlow, who hails from St. Phillip, won after his final with Mark Barnett was tied 1-1 following four games.

Crichlow won by the rule that says the player with the higher honour points is the winner in the event of a tie.
