Hold off
THE business community last night joined Government in appealing to trade unionists not to plunge the island into chaos with a work stoppage or slowdown.
Head of the Barbados Private Sector Association, Alex McDonald, said there was never a good time for a strike but given Barbados’ troubled economic situation, “we can ill afford to slow productivity at this time.”
He added that while the “impasse” between trade unions and the Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) had hurt the business community, “we can only imagine how much more damage” could be caused by a widespread strike.
