AFTER BEING HAMMERED by the Opposition Barbados Labour Party (BLP) and termed a “waste-of-energy” plant, Cahill Energy yesterday responded with a media release saying the company would bring investment, jobs and environmental technology to the island.

“Over the past several days, there has been much discussion about our company and the project we represent. It is our commitment to ensure the people of Barbados understand what this project will mean for them and the future of this country,” the statement read.

It then went on to quote Clare Cowan, the chief executive officer of the waste-to-energy plant earmarked for Vaucluse, St Thomas, with construction scheduled to begin in September.

“Our team of international experts will continue to provide the people of Barbados with accurate and straight-forward information about the importance of our project.” (AC/PR)
