Seven to appear in court tomorrow

SEVEN MEN ARE expected to appear in court tomorrow as police report a significant breakthrough into a number of recent serious crimes.

Twenty-three-year-old Sharaad Jabbari Phillips and 23-year-old Kemar Ward of Parish Land, Christ Church have been jointly charged with the offence of murder in relation to the June 6, 2015 shooting death of Sean Jordan, 27, of Gemswick, St Philip.

Phillips and 24-year-old Joel Hunte of Parish Land, Christ Church have been jointly charged with serious bodily harm and use of a firearm in relation to the June 18 robbery of Monsta Grill.

Phillips and Hunte are also jointly charged with Nathaniel Robinson and Damien Sharaine Proverbs with the offence of robbery in relation to the same incident.

Robinson and Proverbs are both 26 year old residents of Parish Land.

Phillips is also jointly charged with 26-year-old Javon Straker of Parish Land with three counts of serious bodily harm. These charges stem from a May 22 incident at St Patrick’s, Christ Church in which three men were injured.

In addition, Phillips faces a charge of aggravated burglary in relation to the shooting of a householder at Lammings, St Joseph. He faces this charge jointly with Romario Antonio Hope, 19, of Lammings Park.

Police say two firearms and a quantity of ammunition were recovered during the investigations. (PR/NB)
